Sembcorp Industries, Gentari ink MOU for clean energy development

The MOU will cover developments in renewable energy and low-carbon hydrogen.

Sembcorp Industries and Malaysia-based clean energy firm Gentari signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on exploring potential clean energy developments.

In a joint statement, the companies said that they will look into trading from Southeast Asia or other mutually agreed locations for renewable energy to speed up the use of clean energy resources.

The parties will also explore low-carbon hydrogen which includes the development of production facilities and a joint study on transporting supply from Malaysia to Singapore.

The MOU was signed by Gentari Chief Renewables Officer Low Kian Min and Sembcorp CEO, Singapore & Southeast Asia Hok Chiap Khiong.
